RYT 200, Yin Certified
Dia dances in the intersections of art, yoga, and social justice. A yoga practitioner for over 20 years, she first discovered her love of yoga through books found at the Midwestern local library where she worked as a teenager - particularly “Ashtanga Yoga Primer” by Baba Hari Dass.
After living in SF for three years, Dia was drawn to Laughing Lotus as a welcoming, feminine, multi-racial, accepting, spiritual and colorful studio. She soon trained in Lotus Flow and fell in love with the practice of Yin Yoga, which changed her life. She now focuses on Yin in her teachings to support students in slowing down, examining limiting patterns, and exploring creativity. Folks in her classes will find time to listen to their bodies, remember how to breath, engage and observe their response patterns and habits. Dia also views yoga as a tool for social change, integrating it into her work as a social justice coach by encouraging a deep exploration of self. She’s most inspired to find a place of peace in the midst of chaos and to support others in finding that place too.
Dia is a connector of ideas, people, feelings, and thoughts. A mother, yogi, artist, activist, lover, teacher and student, she recognizes that her students share similarly complex identities and strives to meet them where they are, every day.
