Christine Chen

A student and teacher of yoga for more than 15 years, the practice helped Christine recover from two spinal conditions and chronic stress; however, it wasn’t until coming to Laughing Lotus that Christine felt pure glee bursting from her flow on the mat. Christine teaches from her practice: soulful, happy and free movement that is informed by wellness, safety, and intelligent sequencing to explore depth and celebrate one’s ever-expanding potential. A Cal Bear, Christine is thrilled to be back in her home state, fresh off a six-year adventure in NYC, where she served on the senior teaching team at LLYC NYC, apprenticed under Dana Trixie Flynn, and found her love of learning how to go upside down!

Christine is an E-RYT 200 (YogaLife, Seattle), E-RYT 500 (Om Yoga Center, NYC), and RYT-250 (Laughing Lotus: 100-hour Super Sequencing/Bhakti; 100-Hour Ayurveda; 50-hour FLY). She’s the author of Happy-Go-Yoga, simple poses to relieve stress, reduce pain, and add joy (Hachette/Grand Central) and has been featured on Fox News, the Today Show, and CNN. She splits her time between the Bay Area and North County San Diego, where she lives with her husband, Richard, and mini-goldendoodle, Dashi, who will gladly show you her downward dog on command.
