Welcome to Lotus Grad School where you can create your own program to further your yogic studies and enrich your teaching skills. Any 10 sessions equal our Certified 100 hour Advanced Teacher Training. You can also sign up for each Weekend individually or Create a 3, 5 or 10 weekend Program that best suits your particular areas of interest and personal growth.

All 10 hour weekend intensive hours can be used for Yoga Alliance Continuing Education hours. Also Open to ALL dedicated practitioners interested in deepening their knowledge and practice of Yoga.

March 16-17: Lotus Fly: Advanced Asana & Sequencing with Sheri Celentano

Dates: Sat, March 16th & Sun, March 17th

This Certified Intensive is designed for Yoga Teachers and practitioners wanting to explore the more advanced variations of all Asana throughout a Lotus Flow Class to Practice and/or Teach. Through Standing Poses, Arm Balances, Inversions, Backbends and Forward Bends Sheri's expert skill in Alignment, Sequencing as well as the use of Bandha's and Breath will allow you access to the more advanced variations of poses and experience power of conquering fear around the notoriously challenging and exciting Inversions and Arm balances to awaken a renewed sense of wonder and curiosity, and foster deep and personal growth and self awareness in your own practice as well as within your students.

This 10 Hour Program will include:

About Sheri:
Sheri Celentano is a Senior Teacher and Creative Director, teaching Teacher Training at the 200 Hour and Advanced Level at Laughing Lotus NYC and SF. Sheri is a lover of breath and movement and shares this incredible gift as a means to connects us to our own spirit. A Brooklyn Native Sheri has been teaching since the age of 15. From the NYC Public Schools to European Yoga Centers, there was no escaping this calling. She holds an undergraduate degree in Dance from the University at Buffalo and was certified at her home, Laughing Lotus NY in 2005 under the guidance of her teachers Dana Flynn and Jasmine Tarkeshi. Sheri has also been inspired by her studies with Ana Forrest and Raghunath Cappo. Sheri teaches her passion for Yoga in Teacher Trainer Programs and Retreats around the world.

March 23-24: Therapeutic Applications of Yoga with Arturo Peal

This 10 Hour Therapeutic Applications of Yoga is perfect for Yoga Teachers, Practitioners or healers of any modality who want to enrich their teaching/healing skills with Yogic Healing techniques and practices. Through exploring the anatomy of injury and healing, students will be able to create safe yoga practices using restorative yoga and gentle yoga. This combination of healing modalities focuses on helping those recovering from injury or illness, both mental and physical, as well as those who are experiencing the effects of natural aging, pregnancy and stress.

About Arturo:
Arturo Peal is an anatomy and physiology (A&P) instructor and a Certified Yoga therapist. He Holds a Masters Degree in Chinese Medicine, practices Craniosacral Therapy and hasbeen involved in the "alternative" health-care field for more than 30 years. Arturo teaches A&P for Yoga teacher trainings and studios, for body workers, and for other movement specialists. His weekly class in Therapeutic Yoga serves students who are unable to do a traditional Vinyasa practice. He integrates his expertise in Anatomy, Kinesiology, Chinese Medicine, and the healing processes to present a multidimensional understanding of the human body.

April 6-7: The Art of Hands On Assists for Basic & Advanced Asana with Mary Dana Abbott

During this 2 day/10 hour Intensive for Yoga Teachers you will explore safely giving the gift of hands-on assists to your yoga students, overcoming any shyness or hesitancy and gaining confidence, ease and grace in both led classes and private sessions. Expert Teacher and master of the art of Hands- on Assists, Mary Dana will guide you through a Lotus Flow flow class incorporating Stiram/Sukham- steady and blissfully balanced assists in Surya Namaskar, Standing Poses, Arm Balances, Inversions, Back bends and Forward bends. About Mary Dana:
Mary Dana Abbott is a Senior Teacher and Creative Director of Teacher Training at Laughing Lotus NYC. Originally from Chi Town, she found her yoga mat almost immediately upon arriving in NYC in 2000, having no idea that it would eventually roll out to become her greatest adventure of all. After hanging out with some great teachers, she stumbled into Laughing Lotus and found her home. Mary Dana lives to teach and share these practices with those who want to move deeper into the AWEsomeness of their lives. Her classes are fueled with music, threaded with breath, and inspired by the dynamic poetry of asana and the timeless wisdom of yogic philosophy. About Dana:
Dana Flynn is the Co-Founder of Laughing Lotus Yoga Centers in NYC & SF and Lotus Flow TM ~ Recognized throughout the yoga community as a true “teacher’s teacher,” Dana Flynn brings an ecstatic expression of movement, music and community to her practice and her students .The former stockbroker, restaurateur and MTV personality turned a life in the limelight into a spiritual transformation, studying with legendary yogis: Jivamukti’s Sharon Gannon in New York and master teacher Rodney Yee in California. This 10 Hour Sanskrit and Yoga Sutra Intensive is for Yoga Teachers and enthusiasts wanting to deepen their knowledge and experience of Sanskrit as the language of Yoga through the highest of yogic texts , the Yoga Sutras. About Josh:
Josh Michaell teaches Sanskrit, Yoga Philosophy & Meditation through workshops and Teacher Trainings throughout the US and abroad. Practicing Ashtanga Yoga since 1993 and studying Sanskrit and Yoga Philosophy with Vyaas Houston since 1997 Josh is a senior teacher for the American Sanskrit Institute, and on the faculty at the Iyengar Institute of San Francisco, teaching Yoga Philosophy for the 500 hour Teacher Training curriculum as well as a licensed M.A., MFT, with a Transpersonal and Yoga Psychology-inspired counseling practice in San Francisco and Marin County, CA.

About Emily:

Her wild and wooly career has also included a fourteen-year stint teaching high school Latin, a two-year turn as an on-camera gossip reporter, and great gobs of inspiring foreign travel. This weekend Intensive will focus on Yoga for all stages of family life. Inspiring Yoga teacher and Mom Kate, will begin with a more in depth look at all stages of prenatal yoga and variations for each trimester, healing sequencing for different pregnancy symptoms as well as mantra, pranayama, visualization & meditation to prepare moms to be for this life changing experience. Following Prenatal you will explore the beautiful, creative and sometimes challenging experience of sharing a practice with moms & their babies! About Kate:
Kate Duyn Cariati is a senior Lotus FLow teacher in at Laughing Lotus SF & NYC, teaching and mentoring Teacher Trainings. Now a beloved and celebrated Teacher in the Los Angeles Area she has taught a wide range of styles and levels since she started teaching yoga in New York City in 2004. Prior to teaching yoga Kate was a modern dancer, but fell deeply in love with the practice of yoga and will be forever grateful for Dana Flynn and Jasmine Tarkeshi’s inspiration and guidance. It has been, and continues to be, a truly transformational and creative process. Kate leads the Prenatal Yoga module for the 200-Hour Teacher Training program at Laughing Lotus Yoga SF, as well as in the YogaPoser teacher trainings in Venice, CA. In the fall of 2011 she and Claudia Fucigna co-taught the Pure Yoga 200-Hour Teacher Training at the South Bay Equinox. Since relocating to Los Angeles Kate has become well recognized for her approach to sequencing at esteemed centers all over LA and loves to travel and leads annual retreats in places like Mendocino, Joshua Tree, Ojai, and Costa Rica. Her classes are known for their creative sequencing, free flow acro-athleticism and eclectic soundtracks. Kate has a knack for guiding students to new depths while maintaining a sense of humor. She seamlessly weaves yoga philosophy, mantra, pranayama, meditation and movement through asana. Last but certainly not least, she is the proud mother of her baby boy, Vincent Henry.

June 22-23: Teaching Yoga to At-Risk Youth Intensive with Tricia Tangeman

This weekend Intensive is for yoga teachers, who are interested in bringing yoga into communities and specifically would like to learn more about bringing yoga to at-risk youth. Expanding the practice of karma yoga this intensive seeks to bring an alignment between life internal, external and internal, expanding the circle of love through the yogic twin ideals of self-realization and selfless service to others. Skills learned this weekend will focus on working with these vulnerable communities and help teachers develop confidence in working in areas that are potentially outside their comfort zone in a compassionate, reflective, and supportive manner.

Tricia Tangeman believes in the essential expression of the self through movement. When she was introduced to yoga over 20 years ago, she found the means to unify the body and mind through this grounding practice. With the belief that yoga is a deeply creative and devotional expression of the Self, Tricia encourages her students to look inside to find the connection to the greater whole through breath and asana. Tricia has experienced the healing benefits of yoga in her personal practice and found yoga essential to her on-going well being.

About Tricia:
Tricia is a Yoga Alliance registered yoga teacher and received her vinyasa teaching credentials from the Lotus College of Yoga in 2009 and yoga therapist certification from Niroga in 2011. She teaches a variety of classes, including yoga to at-risk youth within the public school system, rehabilitation centers and in juvenile hall. Tricia is deeply grateful to all her teachers, especially Jasmine Tarkeshi, Keith Borden and BK Bose, and her students who continue to inspire her. Off the mat Tricia is the mother of a five year old who keeps her a constant witness to the world as wonder.

A dynamic vinyasa practice is well-balanced with a deep and quiet stillness. Becoming skilled in the subtleties of Restorative Yoga will serve you well as both a teacher and practitioner. This 10 hour intensive includes a comprehensive exploration of how to make intelligent, compassionate contact with students in restorative postures and shavasana. These tools of touch will translate into any hands-on alignment you incorporate in your teaching. About Indigo:
Indigo Stray Conger has been a yogi since 1999 and has been sharing the sweet nectar of practice since 2002. She is a certified Laughing Lotus, OM Yoga, and Advanced Relax & Renew Restorative teacher. As a Senior Lotus Teacher she has taught in and mentored numerous trainings at Laughing Lotus SF and has assisted Judith Hanson Lasater’s Relax & Renew. She also co-designed and led the Free Soul Vinyasa Yoga teacher training in Denver. In addition to teaching a full schedule of delicious classes, Indigo holds a Masters Degree in Somatic Psychology. She is the co-director of Mile High Psychotherapy and has a private massage practice. Indigo longs for her Lotus community in SF and NYC, yet enjoys living with her family in the sun and snow of Colorado.
